The One Big Beautiful Bill Act

On July 4, 2025, President Trump officially signed the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (OBBBA) into law. This followed a narrow 51–50 vote in the Senate on July 1, where Vice President JD Vance cast the tiebreaking vote in favor of the bill. The bill was passed under budget reconciliation procedures, allowing it to move forward with a simple majority vote. The legislation permanently extends, with certain modifications, key individual, business, and international tax measures that were    originally enacted under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). Many of these TCJA provisions were set to expire at the end of 2025.
